My name is Christopher Palmer and I am a languages practitioner. I am now in my sixteenth year of teacher and I have a wealth of experience of liaising with the standard EdExcel GCSE French, Cambridge International GCSE French, EdExcel A-Level French, beginner's Mandarin courses and I am starting to become acquainted with IB French. I have published a vast array of resources which span Key Stage 2-5.

Welcome to Stage 3-4 !
The purpose of this powerpoint is to become deeply acquainted with the formation of tenses and verbs, especially for those who have difficulties in doing so. This is a very good way of introducing the conjugation either when teaching it for the very first time or revision. This is the 20th stage of the learning process and there are 72 stages in the entire process. By the end of the 72nd stage, learners will have a developed a very profound mastery of not only forming nine different tenses which range with complexity upon progression, but also, an exhaustive range of different verbs which have been very carefully divided stage by stage. Upon completion of Stage 9-8, the final stage of the process, will immensely prepare students to pursue with their French studies at university level, where they will inevitably be using tenses. It is also suitable for adult learners, again whether they are learning it for the first time or revision.
This folder contains the following regular '-ir' verbs in the imperfect tense:
Attendre
Mettre
Rendre
Vendre
Perdre
When showing each slide, there is an audio clip on each new item that you can click on and you will hear my voice which demonstrates the pronunciation of each item, or alternatively, you can lead the pronunciation of each item. It is up to you! The learners will then reiterate the new items every time they see the slide 'This time you try it!' You will be very surprised to see how it will stick in their minds!!
I would strongly encourage you to purchase the follow-up activity 'French: Stage 3: The imperfect tense', which enables students to manually complete the drills based on what they have learnt. They are £5. Upon completion of Stage 3-8, there are tests also available.
Happy teaching and learning and the very best of luck!!
It can be overwhelmingly difficult, especially for young students, to distinguish the difference between 'savoir' and 'connaitre'. This pack will greatly facilitate students' learning and comprehension of the different terminology, whether it is for Key Stage 3 French, revision during GCSE, IGCSE or A-Level French or teaching adults its concept for the very first time. Fun and games is the key!!
This pack contains the following:
Presentation of savoir
Presentation of connaitre
Follow up quiz
The presentations of both verbs are in the present tense only, however other tenses for 'savoir' are available in my shop.
Happy teaching and learning and good luck!!

It can be very confusing for learners of French to become accustomed as to whether agreements with reflexive verbs using a direct object is necessary.
Although it is very long, however I have designed this powerpoint to facilitate students to become acquainted that no agreement is necessary with reflexive verbs in the perfect tense that use a direct object and when no direct object is present, agreement is necessary. I have done this in step by step form by putting all the nine essential pronouns in order, first of all without a direct object and then in the next slide with a direct object, so that learners can easily understand this concept. This is ideal for learners from Key Stage 3-5 level or adults who are learning this concept for the first time or simply revision.
Happy teaching and learning and good luck!

Worksheet based on the passive which is really useful for either IGCSE, A-Level or IB level. Students study the pronouns and the verbs and then write sentences using the passive in the past and the future. They need to pay close attention to agreement as necessary. There is support with the first few sentences to help weaker students become acquainted with the passive in a greater sense and then they attempt the remaining sentences independently.

A powerpoint which depicts the four seasons in French. I devised a song for each season which has the same melody as 'Twinkle, twinkle, little star'. Show the children each slide and get them to sing along to the song and you will be amazed as to how the song sticks in their mind. There is also a follow-up game at the end where the children touch the correct tree to gain points according to the season called out. This activity is suitable at primary level, however it can be used as well during the early phases at secondary level.
Happy teaching and learning!
Here is an activity which instructs students how to structure the year in French. This activity is specifically geared towards students studying French at Key Stage 3 and good revision for GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level and adult learners.
The answers to the activity are also included in this activity.
Welcome to Stage 2: The Perfect Tense
Well done on mastering Stage 1: The Present tense! As I have outlined in all the stages for mastering the tenses in French, I have designed each stage which deals with the necessary tenses and stage 2 is the perfect tense. I cover a wide range of verbs that I deem necessary in one's learning of the language. Not only have I made a huge bundle which consists of over 50 verbs in the perfect tense, but the conjugation workbook is also included, which is required from Key stage 3 onwards or whether adults are learning it for the very first time. This bundle will be useful for either teaching the tenses for the first time or revision. Normally I sell each part for £3 each and the workbook for £5, but for £17.50 (which would normally be £29 for all 9 items!), you will have the following:
Part 1: Primary irregular -ir verbs: Aller, Avoir, Boire, Croire, Etre, Faire, Ouvrir, Prendre
Part 2: Regular -er verbs: Arriver, Entrer, Essayer, Manger, Parler, Partager, Porter, Regarder

Do take advantage of this offer and I wish you very happy teaching and learning!

Here is a fabulous resource for introducing 'etre' verbs to younger students. The children have pages and pages of colouring in to do and conjugating all 16 intransitive verbs will keep them occupied for quite a long time and very good practise! This activity can be set during class time or as homework. When the children complete the written drills in the workbook, each letter represents the number of missing letters in a word. This resource is geared towards learners of Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3. It is good revision for Key Stage 4 learners as well, except I don't think they would appreciate the colouring in as much!
Here is a resource which extensively looks at verbs which are followed by the preposition 'à' in step by step form.
This is ideal for students studying French at IGCSE level.
Happy teaching and learning!
Here is a good resource which introduces the authentic concept of 'chez'.
It is particularly useful for introducing to learners of Key Stage 3 level, in preparation for the GCSE/IGCSE programme.
Happy teaching and learning!
This resource looks at impersonal verbs and there is a story which uses them explicitly. There are follow-up activities available.
This resource is geared towards learners of IGCSE level and useful to review at A-Level.
Happy teaching and learning!
